Ladies, let’s talk about self-care during those frosty, bone-chilling winter months. As mothers, daughters, sisters, and caretakers, we often put everyone else first. Ingredients

  • 2 cups water
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger (grated) or 1 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1 teaspoon dried chamomile flowers
  • 1 teaspoon dried peppermint leaves
  • 1 teaspoon dried echinacea (optional, for immune support)
  • 1 cinnamon stick or ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • Juice of ½ lemon
  • 1–2 teaspoons honey (to taste, for soothing sore throats)

Instructions

  1. Boil the Water: Bring 2 cups of water to a gentle boil in a small pot or kettle.
  2. Prepare the Ingredients: Add the fresh ginger, chamomile, peppermint, echinacea (if using), and cinnamon stick to a tea infuser or directly into the boiling water.
  3. Steep: Reduce the heat and let the mixture steep for 10–15 minutes. Cover the pot while steeping to trap the beneficial steam and retain the essential oils.
  4. Strain: If you added the ingredients directly into the water, strain the tea into a mug using a fine mesh strainer.
  5. Add Lemon and Honey: Stir in the lemon juice and honey to taste. These ingredients not only enhance the flavor but also provide additional cold-fighting properties.
  6. Sip and Enjoy: Drink the tea while it’s warm to maximize the soothing effects.
